Aliya Ghare is a Toronto-based illustrator and fine artist. She is a 2018 graduate student from Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto. Her work is preoccupied with transforming her particular perspective and ideas into probing and conceptual illustrations. My name is Emaan Ali and I live in Toronto. I am eleven years old. I was inspired to write this story because of a doodle I had made that looked like a woman. I gave her the name Mrs. Smafpaf, and she became the inspiration for the main character of my book. In my doodle, I gave her a pink face and a big smile. For the locket in my story, I was inspired by a necklace that I made that also had a heart-shaped locket. When I am not writing, I can be found watercolour painting, reading fantasy books, or baking muffins. I hope to see more people writing in the future.
